Cox received her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism with a minor in Mass Communications from Sam Houston State University. A Woodlands native, Cox graduated from The Woodlands High School in 2000, where she was a member of the Lady Highlanders softball team. Cox is a member of the Houston Cure PH Committee.
