The Woodlands, TX - November 29, 1999
The LJF Associates,
Inc.’s "Wanna Share?" campaign, created for Houston-based Crown Castle
International, recently placed first as the Best Tower Collocation
Marketing Campaign, awarded by the Tower Industry Excellence in Business
Awards program. The award was presented at the 1999 Tower Industry
Summit & Trade Show held in November in Las Vegas.
LJF Associates, owned by Linda J. Freede, created the innovative
marketing campaign for Crown Castle International to promote the concept
of sharing on towers for wireless communications, which is known in the
telecommunications industry as collocating.
The concept of collocation was illustrated in the first ad of the "Wanna
Share?" campaign through an image of children sharing a tree ? a
metaphor for one tower with different carriers sharing space. The
friendly theme followed with the lead-in copy "Sharing is sharing ?
whether it’s sharing space on a tower or sharing a branch on a tree."
Freede notes, "The ‘Wanna Share?’ campaign took a different spin from
any of the other marketing campaigns in the industry. While the
standard industry ads featured towers in some form or people talking on
cell phones, Crown Castle’s were noticeable as they did not include
visuals of actual towers in the ads. We knew the idea would work for
such an innovative company as Crown Castle International."
Crown Castle International Corp. is a leading provider of communication
sites and wireless network services and provides an array of related
infrastructure and network support services to the wireless
communications and radio and television broadcasting industries in the
United States and United Kingdom. Pro forma for all closed and
previously announced transactions, Crown Castle International owns,
operates and manages approximately 10,000 wireless communication
towers internationally. |
